YOUNG Africans SC have called on their members, supporters and football fans to rally behind the team ahead of their crucial Mainland Premier League clash against Azam FC on Wednesday.

Following their disappointing 3-2 extra-time defeat to Azam in the Federation Cup semi-final, the club has urged supporters to put that setback behind them and focus on helping the team defend their league title.

Speaking upon the team's arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar, Young Africans information manager Ali Kamwe (pictured) appealed to fans to turn out in large numbers at New Amaan Complex to support the team in the important encounter.

"The team has already arrived in Zanzibar and is preparing for Wednesday's Mainland Premier League match against Azam FC," Kamwe said.

"Now that our Federation Cup campaign has come to an end, it is important for Young Africans members and supporters to close the chapter on Sunday's match against Azam FC and shift their attention to what lies ahead.

"What is in front of us is far more important than what is behind us. Our focus now is on the Mainland Premier League title. We are currently at the top of the table with a two-point advantage and still have three matches remaining, starting with Wednesday's fixture."

Kamwe emphasized the importance of fan support as Young Africans seek to complete the season as league champions.

"I would like to take this opportunity to urge all Young Africans members and supporters to come to New Amaan Complex on Wednesday evening in large numbers. We need to stand together with our players and finish the season with the honour of being champions," he said.

"The honour we seek is to win the Mainland Premier League title once again. We have come this far, and only a small step remains. To complete that journey, we need everyone to unite behind the team."

He acknowledged that the remaining fixtures will be challenging but expressed confidence that strong support from the club's faithful could help the team achieve its objective.

"We must remain united and continue supporting our team. There is still a little way to go, but it will not be easy. I believe that with the support of our fans, we can achieve positive results.

"After Wednesday's match, only two more games will separate us from retaining our league title."
