Runners warm up as Kitulo garden marathon begins

PARTICIPANTS in the Kitulo Garden Marathon began warming up early ahead of the official start of the race, held in the unique setting of Kitulo National Park, with a focus on promoting health, tourism, and entertainment.

Speaking before the race, one of the coordinators, Mony Luvanda, noted that the event organized by Events and Promotions Company under its Director, Dr. Toba Nguvila, who also serves as the Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS) for the Arusha Region highlights the importance of proper preparation, including stretching exercises, to ensure participants compete safely and avoid injuries.

The race features three distances: five kilometers (Fun Run), 10 kilometers, and 21.1 kilometers (half marathon). Participants have been encouraged to take part fully and avoid unnecessary excuses.

Beyond the competition, the event also showcases tourist attractions and entertainment, including grilled meat and social activities that will continue until the following morning.

The Kitulo Garden Marathon held under the theme “Our Park, Our Pride,” aims to promote environmental conservation while boosting domestic tourism.
