In the last article, we looked at the incredible magic of tomorrow's businesses. You may have learnt how computers talk to us in many languages. How we can shop right inside WhatsApp, and how we can pay for things with a simple smile.
But the exciting world of Customer Experience (CX) has one more big step to take. Today, top businesses are merging smart technology with something even more important, caring for our planet and our local communities. This is called, "Green and Community CX."
The first new trend is building eco-friendly businesses that protect nature. Across Africa, from South Africa to Ghana, cool companies are no longer using heavy bricks and concrete that harm the earth. Instead, they are turning old shipping containers into beautiful, modern stores.
They cover the roofs with solar panels to trap the energy of the sun. This solar power runs all the lights, air conditioners, and smart computer kiosks inside. When customers walk into a shop powered entirely by the sun, they feel happy and proud because the business is helping protect their clean air and land.
The second exciting trend is changing how a shop helps the neighbourhood around it. This is inspired by the Southern African word, "Ubuntu". The beautiful African idea that we are all connected. Smart businesses are no longer keeping their spaces locked up only for paying customers. Instead, they are designing open spaces outside their stores where people can gather safely. For example, some telecom shops and banks are adding free Wi-Fi zones and solar-powered phone-charging tables outside bus stations and many other public spaces.
School children can sit there to do their homework, and local families can stay connected. Turning a simple retail business into a helpful neighbourhood hub.
Now if you merge these two trends together with the technology I talked about in the previous articles! Picture using your WhatsApp business chat to trade in your old plastic bottles or paper garbage for digital shopping points.
You walk down to your local solar powered store, smile at the safe "Face Pay" camera, and instantly use your green reward points to buy your family's groceries. This connects saving the environment directly with fast and easy shopping.
When businesses bring all these things together; smart phones, kind workers, green energy and community spaces. Purchasing stops being just about spending money. It becomes a way to build a happier and cleaner world for all of us.
The ultimate goal of the invisible blueprint is not just to build a successful office or a profitable store. It is about creating a better future.
The African businesses that will truly win the hearts of their customers are the ones that use their spaces to serve people and protect the earth. When a business cares for you, your language and your neighbourhood. It becomes a true home for the community.
