Equity Group successfully concluded a four-day Trade and Investment Roadshow across Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar from 29 June to 2 July 2026, connecting over 50 international investors from Africa, Europe, Canada, and Australia with high-potential opportunities in manufacturing, logistics, real estate, blue economy, and technology.

The mission moved beyond symbolic engagements, offering structured matchmaking, regulatory clarity, and on-site due diligence to position Tanzania and Zanzibar as premier investment gateways under the African Continental Free Trade Area.

The programme opened at the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), where officials detailed investor incentives and entry procedures.

Delegates toured garment facilities in the Export Processing Zone and the Bagamoyo Special Economic Zone to assess infrastructure and land readiness for export-oriented manufacturing.

A high-level business forum with TanTrade followed, reinforced by government commitment to private sector led industrialisation.

Equity Group outlined its full service investor support including trade finance, advisory, and compliance while structured B2B sessions generated active negotiations, supplier linkages, and early-stage commitments.

In Zanzibar, engagements with the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) highlighted a streamlined, semi-autonomous policy framework.

Site visits centred on the Fumba Port project East Africa’s first private port, with 80 percent private and 20 percent government ownership. The facility, expected to handle 200,000 containers and offer two berths totalling 700 metres, will eventually relocate port operations from Malindi and catalyse growth in warehousing, logistics, hospitality, and technology.

Delegates also toured the Fumba Development Project a mixed-use scheme featuring hotels, restaurants, and residential units ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, alongside a new ferry port easing mainland island connectivity.

Developers affirmed progress toward an October 2027 completion. Additional site inspections in Paje revealed strong demand for apartment villas and residential projects, driven by rising tourism and infrastructure upgrades.

Throughout the mission, Equity Group served as convener, financier, and strategic partner, bridging capital and opportunity while reducing cross-border friction. As part of its Africa Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Group has now delivered over 25 trade missions across East Africa in four years.

This latest edition generated a robust pipeline of public-private partnerships, joint ventures, contracts, and early investment commitments.

For Tanzania and Zanzibar, the roadshow signalled a confident opening to global capital; for investors, it offered tangible, bankable projects with credible local partners closing with aligned next steps for due diligence and follow through.
